GNC-ALFA CJSC is founded in 2007. The company is the leader in the Armenian market of international and domestic long distance transmission, data and Internet services. The main mission of the company is deployment of carrier-grade and nation-wide SDH (b/o Cisco), IP/MPLS telecommunication backbone network (supplied by Juniper Networks). The network is based on Fiber-Optic cable infrastructure, in the Southern segment (from Iranian border to Yerevan) and in the Northern segment (from Yerevan to Georgian border) is constructed upon underground installation method. GNC-ALFA CJSC network is designed to satisfy the growing needs of international transit carriers, domestic fixed and mobile operators, Internet Service Providers, large international organizations and enterprises in data transmission networks and high speed Internet services.

Commissioning of GNC-ALFA CJSC network resulted in a fundamental change of the market conjuncture by means of decreasing prices on wholesale Internet and gradually increasing the penetration rate and access of the population to information resources. Interconnections are achieved with International carrier operators in Iran and Georgia, thus making the GNC-ALFA CJSC network fully redundant in terms of Armenia’s Internet feed. In fact, GNC-ALFA CJSC network is the only state-of-the-art telecommunication infrastructure in Armenia with 3 international gateways: one in the South and two in the North.
